                                                                                 Pastoral Letter

Dear Parishioners,

May the Grace and peace of Christ be with you. With the further easing of restriction by Premier Daniel Andrews on Sunday 22nd November, all those who would like to participate in mass at our parishes can now do so. Though up to 150 people can worship inside the church, the capacity of St Francis Xavier church is about 110 people due to social distancing requirement. St John’s church may accommodate about 150 people.

In St John’s church, pre-booking is no longer required to participate in masses both on Sundays and weekdays. However, each person is required to document his/her name on arrival at the church.

In St Francis Xavier church, pre-booking is also not required for participation on Sunday and weekday masses. However, to reduce the cluster of people registering their names before Sunday mass in the foyer, Try Booking has been set up for Sunday Masses. It can be accessed via the parish website. If you are unable to register your name online before mass, then you should register your name in the foyer before mass.

The Try-booking for Sunday masses shall be opened from 9.00am on Monday and close at 12 noon on Thursday. If you are unable to use the Try -Booking, you do not need to email or call the parish office, just turn up and register your name in the foyer.

To use the Try-Booking, click on Online mass booking from the parish website menu, then select the mass time of your choice and click on ‘Book Now’.

Masks are still required in the church, please come to the church wearing your masks.

The live stream masses will continue as scheduled this week. It shall be reduced next week.

The evening masses on Wednesdays and Fridays are now suspended indefinitely. However, the Tuesday evening mass would be retained going forward.

The extra Sunday mass at 4.00pm at St Francis Xavier church would ensure that all those who would like to participate in a Sunday mass would be accommodated in the church.

The mass Times are as follows:

6.00pm (Saturday evening)

8.30am, 10.30am

4.00pm & 5.30pm

Tuesday – Saturday 9.15am

Tuesday  7.00pm

7.00pm (Saturday evening)

8.30am & 10.00am

Monday – Saturday  9.00am (Mass, Communion Service)

Looking forward to seeing you in church. Fr Jude and I miss you all.
